In this post, we will share with you the easiest recipe for an iced tea latte – one of our favourite drinks to make at home. We’ll also share some tips and tricks to make it even better. It’s so simple, delicious, and refreshing that you’ll want to make it every day!

What is an iced tea latte?


An iced tea latte is a cold drink made with brewed tea, milk, and ice. It’s similar to an iced coffee latte, but with tea instead of coffee. You can use any kind of tea you like, such as black, green, herbal, or flavoured. Plus, you can customise it with different sweeteners and toppings, such as honey, vanilla, cinnamon, or even whipped cream!

There are many reasons why you should try an iced tea latte. Here are some of them:

  • It’s a great way to enjoy tea on a hot day. If you love tea but don’t want to drink it hot when it’s warm outside, an iced tea latte is the perfect solution. It will cool you down and quench your thirst!

What you’ll need:


Making an iced tea latte at home is very easy and quick. You’ll only need a few ingredients and tools. Most things are just household items, however, if you are using loose leaf tea you will need some sort of strainer.   • 2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea of your choice (I used black tea for a strong flavour)
  • 100 ml of hot water
  • Sugar to taste
  • A glass filled with ice
  • Some cold milk
  • A teapot or a kettle
  • A strainer or a filter

Making an iced tea latte is super quick and easy. It’s like riding a bike: once you learn how to do it, you’ll be making iced tea latte’s for the rest of your life. Once you have the basics down, you can experiment with different flavors and tea’s (more on that later). Here are the basic steps to follow when making an iced tea latte:

  1. Add 2 heaped teaspoons of your desired loose leaf tea to a mug, infuser or tea pot. (Alternatively, add 1-2 tea bags if you do not have loose leaf).
  2. Pour 100-150ml of hot water over the tea leaves and steep for 5 minutes. This is how we create the tea concentrate, much like making a coffee latte with an espresso shot. The longer you steep the tea, the stronger the flavour will be.

  4. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the tea over them.
  5. Top it up with some cold milk and stir well.

  • Use filtered or bottled water when brewing the tea. Tap water may have impurities or chlorine that can affect the flavour of your drink.
  • Use any kind of milk you like, such as cow’s milk, almond milk, soy milk, or oat milk. You can also use cream or half-and-half for a richer and creamier drink.
  • Adjust the sweetness of your drink according to your preference. You can use white sugar, brown sugar, honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, or any other sweetener you like.   • Pour the milk in first, before the tea concentrate. Sometimes when you do it in this order, you can get some really nice patterns! Some people also prefer it this way, leaving it un-stirred to give it a different taste and experience.
